My Baby Girl
I've watched you grow; I've dried your tears.
Staying in your shadow, throughout the years,
So I could see,
My baby girl
Dig in her spurs
And take on the world.
I've stood beside you when you've triumphed,
Helped you up if you fell down.
Yet as you now stand beside me
In your white satin gown,
It's now you who dry my salty tears
And tell me that it will all be okay.
And that you're glad I'll walk you down the aisle
On your wedding day.
My baby girl, you make me proud,
But please, promise me
That on this day, you will save
The last dance for me.
